Diesel has wide area of its application including in the engines used in industries like Construction, Transportation and Mining. This makes it as an extensively used commercial fuel all over world. In addition to this, it is also used as a fuel for the operations of power generators, boilers, dryers, furnaces, fryers and many others.
All over the world, diesel is supplied to its users through road tankers of capacity ranging from 5000 to 25000 liters. While unloading the diesel in underground or ground mounted bulk storage tanks, there is a possibility of pilferage and malpractices in dip stick check.
The diesel which is unloaded is issued on large scale to in house users for operating boilers, diesel powered generators, dryer, fryer and furnaces. Other than this, the fuel is also supplied to mobile users for construction equipment, transportation vehicles and mining machines. In most of the applications, the users adopt the dipstick method for measuring the consumed diesel, which is neither accurate and reliable not prevents rampant pilferage.
Taking into consideration all the above mentioned conditions, we concluded that there is no method which is accurate and tamper proof for keeping a check on issues of the diesel procured. Hence, it becomes impossible to audit the entire process of procuring and consumption of diesel, which worth of crores. Further, this leads to a difficult situation for the materials manager who has to show the account for such a high cost bulk purchase input to his industry.

There are developed special PLC and HMI panels to which all the data logged by the receipt and issue measurement devices is transferred. Through these panels, the calibrated data is available for the users so that they can get complete clarity of diesel issued and received. Along with this, it also displays the information regarding the stock in the bulk storage and user storage tanks.
There is also integrated a logic power in the PLC and HMI panels through which the automatic maintenance of user tank levels and alarms for highlighting abnormal activity is possible. This is done by controlling transfer pumps and line control valve.
The fluidyne systems used communication protocols like RS 232C or RS 485 MODBUS for transmitting the logged data in PLC / HMI module to BMS or SCADA or ERP server. It is also possible to port the data directly into customer data base such as Microsoft SQL or SAP or Oracle.
